Our mission is to engage society and support permanent solutions to eradicate hunger in Brazil and reduce food waste in favor of food security and the environment. The path to achieving this is challenging, but possible. We are guided by data and evidence to work with different actors, strengthen public policies, drive initiatives and mobilize society for a common purpose.
We work with governments in all three spheres, the private sector, civil society and third sector institutions to support the design and implementation of public policies and impact initiatives.
We combine data, academic research and technology to support better action by civil society and governments, in order to increase the effectiveness of public policies, projects and initiatives.
We recognize existing initiatives and build incentives for relevant action by society, in line with ESG practices and the Sustainable Development Goals established by the UN.
Brazil has one of the worst rates of social mobility in the world. That’s why we prioritize programs that seek to reduce inequalities in access to income and work, with the aim of expanding opportunities and enabling adequate nutrition.
The Brazilian diet is poor in diversity, and only 20% of the population consumes the recommended amount of vegetables. In addition, Brazil loses almost a third of its food production due to inefficiency. Our programs aim to improve the effectiveness of public policies on food and nutrition security and to optimize food systems, making them more efficient, sustainable and expanding access to healthy food.
Contribute to poverty reduction through access to employment and income, promoting the necessary conditions for food security.
Acting in the governance and management of food and nutrition security (FNS) policies, ensuring their effective implementation and accessibility to citizens.
To contribute to a more efficient distribution of food, focusing on public facilities and third sector initiatives, with the aim of reducing waste and increasing the use of food.
Promote and encourage sustainable food practices and policies among actors in the food chain, governments and the third sector, accelerating transformations in food systems for greater resilience, sustainability and equity, benefiting people and the planet.

We recognize that governments have a central role to play in eradicating hunger, promoting food security and reducing food waste in Brazil, as they have the potential to reach everyone equitably and to build structuring solutions.
Regardless of political ideology, these issues must be a priority at all levels of government. That’s why we are cross-party and seek convergence around the common purpose of building a fairer Brazil, in which all people have access to adequate food.
Based on evidence, we dialog and work in partnership with the public sector to contribute to the better construction and implementation of policies and advance priority agendas capable of overcoming the challenges mentioned.
Conceived in cooperation with Unesco and FAO, the Award aims to recognize, give visibility to and reward third sector initiatives that work to combat hunger and/or food waste, and to promote food security, contributing to the reduction of inequalities in Brazil.
